I’m Samir Gnawali , a highly passionate Applied Economist currently serving the role of Project Lead as well as Business Development Officer in Vegetable Value Chain Development Project. I blend critical thinking and data-driven strategy to build sustainable policy driven solutions for different real-life problems.

My not-so-long journey is fueled by curiosity and a love for technology.

Who is Samir Gnawali?

I am a recent M. Sc. Agricultural Economics graduate with interests spanning over a wide range of topics. It all started with my goal of serving the humanity, with accumulated experiences shaping my decisions and driving my interests evolving from increasing productivity and production to plant protection with the use of biological agents and entomopathogens to serving the rural and underserved through livelihood programming and extension of agricultural knowledge to finally economics of production, sustainability of the agri-businesses to value chain and market systems development.

People often describe me as Dogmatic and Opinionated Individual with Introverted Personality. Hinduism has shaped most of the part of my consciousness and problem solving attitude has driven me for most of the part of my life.

What is Samir Gnawali Doing Right Now?

I’m a career development practitioner currently serving as Project Lead and Business Development Officer overseeing all the administrative, programmatic and business development part of the Vegetable Value Chain Development Project in Kanchan Rural Municipality, Rupandehi. The project is a part of the Innovations in Agriculutre and Livestock Value Chain (IALVC) signature program of Heifer International Nepal implemented in collaboration with Kanchan Rural Municipality, Rupandehi under facilitation of Seto Gurans Child Development Service Rupandehi. My expertise (Interests to be precise) lies in Agricultural Risks Management, Livelihood Enhancement and Value chain Development. I am interested in Research-Education-Extension Linkage and am confident in my skills with Numbers, Equations and Charts.
